My name is Thandekile and I went to Khomotso Comprehensive high school. During my high school life grade 8-9 to be specific, I have always thought of myself as an average learner. But ever since I started attending Maths centre/ Trudon extra classes my perception about myself hanged. The programme provided us with resources such as textbooks that contained past exams papers to use when preparing for tests and exams. They even brought new technology to our school to use, in order to make learning interesting. And they also offered extra classes that contained a lot of discussions, we did a lot of practical examples and it made it easier for me to grasp information since I’m a person who learns easier when we put whatever we have done in theory into practical. The Maths Centre has been of great help to me, so has Trudon. I’m saying this because of the marks that I produced, I went from being a D student to being an A student, of which was an excellent achievement, and even today I still spread the news about how grateful I am to the Maths Centre and Trudon, if wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have recognized the potential that I have, and I wouldn’t have made it to varsity. I got accepted to study BSc Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria. I find the Idea of mentoring other young people fruitful since I also know how it feels to be in their shoes.
